D1 Toolbox · Support

Connect safely to the D1 service network.

From the correct adapter to the first connection: this guide covers hardware, IPv4 configuration, project assignment and permissions on iPhone and iPad.

Preparation

What you need.

Compatible device

iPhone or iPad running iOS/iPadOS 17 or later, or a supported Apple silicon Mac.

Ethernet path

A USB-C Ethernet adapter, a compatible powered Lightning adapter chain or the Ethernet port of a Mac.

Local service network

A working Ethernet cable and authorised access to the intended D1 network.

Known credentials

The network range, a free device address and authorised credentials for the selected system.

Step by step

Configure the network carefully.

  1. Connect the correct adapter path

Connect USB-C devices through an Ethernet adapter. Lightning devices need a compatible powered adapter chain. Link LEDs help confirm the physical connection.

  2. Assign a free IPv4 address

Configure an unused Ethernet address in the same subnet as the target system. Never assign a controller address to the iPhone or iPad.

  3. Allow local network access

Accept the system prompt on first use. The permission can be reviewed in Privacy & Security → Local Network.

  4. Select the correct project

The same IP addresses may exist at different sites. Choose the building deliberately before connecting.

  5. Verify identity before live actions

Compare the IP address, project, device identity and detected version before reading data or sending service commands.

Without a system

Explore the app safely.

Demo mode

The demo project contains fictional controllers, lines, call stations, events and measurements. Simulated connections never send commands to a network.

Import a VCF

A VCF list can be imported as an offline controller. Its data stays assigned to the project and can later be refreshed from the real installation.

Troubleshooting

When a connection cannot be established.

The controller is not found by the scan

Check the Ethernet link, local network permission and scan range. A known IP address can also be added manually to the correct project.

“A valid IPv4 address is required” appears

Remove spaces and use four numeric blocks between 0 and 255. The address must match the service subnet and remain unused.

A command returns “NO EXECUTION PERMISSION”

The action requires OPMODE CONFIG. Enable it deliberately on the selected controller and return to OPMODE NORMAL after the work is complete.

The same IP exists in multiple projects

This is common in D1 installations. The selected project and verified device identity are decisive; a detected IP is never assigned automatically to another building.
